On December 7, the Armenian Youth Educational-Cultural Center of Akhaltskha held an event dedicated to the memory of the victims of the 1988 devastating Spitak Earthquake.

In the end, the gathered viewed touching photos taken during the devastating earthquake.
Director for education at the Youth Center Eduard Ayvazyan recalled the Georgians’ support following the earthquake and the fact that Georgians were the first to extend a helping hand to the friendly Armenians. Ayvazyan also asked the eyewitnesses of the earthquake to present all that had happened on that day in more detail.
Deputy Gamgebeli of Akhaltskha Ashot Manasyan, who was also attending the event, told the gathered that he had also been at the scene on those days and had tried to help the locals.
