Catholicos of All Armenians received the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia
On February 21 His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan.
The Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia presented to His Holiness the work of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, particularly with reference to some opinions, recently expressed in mass media and by different personalities concerning the Diocesan activities. The Primate of the Diocese, His Grace assured His Holiness that contrary to unfounded accusations expressed in reference to the Diocesan activities, the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia continues to operate normally, being guided by the principles adopted legally and canonically. Nevertheless, to dispel any possible doubt, associated with the Diocesan activities in different areas, the Head of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Mirzakhanyan requested permission from the Catholicos of All Armenians to appoint a committee for preparation of report on the essential problems and the work of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia.
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his opinion and blessed the Primate and the clergy of the Diocese for the implemented vigorous activity. His Holiness also gave advice and counsel to the Head of the Diocese to continue his service as the Primate with diligence and prudence in order to strengthen national and spiritual life of the faithful Armenians of Georgia.
His Holiness transmitted his blessing and greeting to pious Armenians of Georgia, expressed his gratitude for their devotion to national and church life.
In regard to committee appointment His Holiness informed that appropriate guidelines would be provided.
