Lighting of Candles in Memory of Little Seryozha Avetisyan
On January 21, 2015 the commemorative ceremony along with the lighting of candles was held in memory of 6-month-old Seryozha Avetisyan, who died on January 19, and other members of Avetisyan family, brutally murdered on January 12.

Children’s toys were brought to Seryozha Avetisyan’s photo near the church’s wall. After delivering the service the parish priest Fr. Manuk Zeinalyan addressed people, who were crying, and encouraged them to comfort in memory of Avetisyan family members and to confront grief with the prayer.

The death of little Seryozha Avetisyan after one week of struggle for life reduced to tears the Armenian community in Georgia. They found slight consolation in lighting candles in memory of Avetisyan family members. The faithful prayed to God for the peace of their souls.

The commemorative ceremony along with the lighting of candles in memory of brutally murdered Avetisyan family members was held in the churches of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli. Also, the candles were lit in front of the building of the Consulate General of Armenia in Batumi.
