On Feb. 28, the Armenian Youth Educational and Cultural Center of Akhaltskha held a lecture dedicated to the memory of the innocent victims of the genocide perpetrated against the Armenians in the Azerbaijani city of Sumgait in February 1988.

Once again, the youth were introduced to the history of the brutal genocide perpetrated against the Armenians of Sumgait 26 years ago.

The lecture was followed by the screening of a film devoted to the Sumgait pogroms.

In the end, the youth said even though they were aware of the Sumgait tragedy, it’s important to come together and remember the innocent victims and tell the younger generation the truth.

The youth also talked about the need of counterattacking Azerbaijan’s false propaganda.
